PUERTO GALERA | A Crowd Magnet Fire Dancing
The Best of Fire Dancing
Puerto Galera is proving to be a quick alternative by weekend tourist seeking adventures by the beach. Having that certain culture that belies having fun even before setting foot in the sands of White Beach Puerto Galera. Restaurants, Resort Hotels abound, scenic views during sunsets and coral gardens, and what I like the most, night life complete with dancing frenzy by the beach with fire dancing.
Aside from the people partying by the beach, I like to watch the tranny comedy shows, the waiters themselves are the one's doing this. Unfortunately though, they no longer host this kind of show to attract customers, they instead stick to the fire dancing of some very flexible and and talented fire dancers I've seen. Literally its a delight to photograph, guest are milling over to to have their pictures taken with whatever cameras available from camera phones and digital camera, even a few DLSR's.
Lucky for me that I got my baby nikon D5100
It was quite a challenge to tale these pictures, as is, most of the guest milling around are only interested with having their pictures along with the dancers. So I took their pictures instead, unconsciously trying to capture the their frenzy of excitement mingled with fear of getting singed by the blazing fires.

Are there no girls doing it? mga barako lang kasi ang nandito sa mga pics mo eh hehe...
ReplyDeleteFire dancing is well appreciated during night time of course. By the way, where's Puerto Galera?
ReplyDeleteAng galing. Shutter and apperture gamit mo? Kuhang kuha lalo na yung number 8!
ReplyDeleteI've seen them so many times already (I have tons of Puerto Galera posts) but I never managed to take good pictures. How'd you do it please?
ReplyDeleteOMG! This is amazing! And you captured the moment so well.. It's not easy to take pictures at night especially without a tripod. This is a winner post.
ReplyDelete@Edmar -- hahaha!!! few of the dancers are trannies, and the girls werent really dancing much.. it's like their on a pageant.
ReplyDelete@Aleah - shooting this scene is not that difficult.. I know you're using Nikon D3100, simple really.. You need to use high ISO level, this one I used ISO 2000 with my Nikon D5100, use slow shutter speeds, not too slow though that you loose the images in a blur or light.. Aperture level at F/6.3.. one more thing, no need to use tripod, you just have to stand firm.
picture taking at night has always been my problem, di ko kc alam ano iaadjust...i'll just enjoy looking at these pictures, and never been to puerto galera and seen fire dancers (where have i been?)...
ReplyDeleteAng ganda ng mga photos! Galing! I've never been to Galera, but once I get to visit the island I'll make sure to find these awesome fire dancers. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThose shots are sick. I can't believe these guys perform the stunts that safe. Even if they're still, I just imagine what if the fire made contact to everyone. Nice job for the fire dancers.
