One of the most unforgettable beach to hop in El Nido, Palawan. The Seven Commandos beach, is named after the Seven Commando's (lost soldiers) who lived here. Beautiful spot for snorkeling and by just being in the corner from El Nido town. Kind of hard to imagine that by approach, Seven Commando Beach is just like many other secluded island beaches in the area, but it is part of the main town, make no mistakes though as one can't just take simple hike to get here. That karst rock wall is as intimidating and sharp as it looks.

As part of the Bacuit Archipelago in the Northern Palawan, the islands with the most of them scattered around looked to be oddly similar yet feels different. This is the second time I stepped on the sands of Seven Commandos Beach, being I always remember this beach when I recall my trips to Palawan. Developments are on the way to improve this Beach, it's still enjoyable knowing that its free to be explored by people. There are even campers making camp in here, though they've made it a rule that the tourist boats are not to drop anchor in front nor stay while waiting for the guest, it is all for the better. Because the views of the distant islands are incomparable, I've enjoyed this beach so much that I can only thank Seven Commando Beach for my tan lines.

This is the last stop for Tour A island hopping. A respite for being exposed to sun and swimming in clear waters for the whole day. Probably one thing that endears me here is that, I could forget the corporate woes I've left behind and be that someone on a clean slate. The clear waters feels like it has a magnet inviting me to keep on swimming despite my now stinging sun burnt skin. I even thought of bringing my journal with me, as I sit down on the sands, inspiring thoughts came like a rush from a flooding floodgate.

Though not always on the road, I could say that I've been to a lot of places already. My aesthetics has been finely tuned within the last two years of exploring my country. I've become someone who's keen to look for what makes a place endearing and unforgettable, so it didn't miss my notice that as compared to my first visit, where this beach had looked to be untouched and a lot more wilder with vines and bushes making a welcome parley.

This time, the store selling fresh buko had improved and literally expanded to selling more stuff. The beach was leveled and combed and beach tables and chairs are lined below palm trees. At a corner, there are men working on fixing a boat. I am not one that's obtuse to development, I still enjoyed this lovely beach, the feeling of calm serenity where you could just sit in the sand and look over the azzure water is still there, its probably that its there's more people this time as El Nido is gaining more popularity.

What's the best way to enjoy Seven Commandos Beach?

Beers are sold at the retail store, what's more to enjoy a place with a tipsy stupor. Take that best offering of fresh Buko Juice, and probably a jumpshot with the quirkiest people you just met on the tour. My Japanese gals here are sure a lot to handle, but hey we were all having the time of our lives.

A very peaceful place, and just lucky that the weather agrees with my scheduled visit. To gain access to this beach, it's easier to sign up with one El Nido's island hopping offerings, Tour A. This would be for the finale part since is very much near the El Nido town, just one of the many and all equally stunning drop offs. I was hoping to visit this place on a late afternoon, I'm sure that sunsets in this vantage view would be spectacular. But then we left early on, with 2 Japanese girls who can't stopped being awed by the beauty of El Nido islands. Just as it is, every blogger or traveler who happens to stumble in here may never be able to put into photo or capture that specific feeling of elation, the place is just painfully beautiful.
